Body Lift.......
I'm looking at putting in a 3" body lift and I have a couple of questions. First is which brand is better. I looked at Preformance Accessories and at TrailMaster. Between the 2 I would go with TrailMaster but I was just wondering what other people have experienced. The other question is on the lift directions I have for the Preformance Accessories lift it says you have to lift the box and cab simultaneously. Is there any truth to that or is there a trick to do that. Also does anyone have any good ideas how to actually lift the body. I only have one floor jack and 2 maybe 3 hydralic pedistal jacks.

My 2 cents worth
Just want to throw my two cents worth in to help you feel more confident in your decision on buying a bodylift. I had the 3" Trailmaster put on in September of '98, and have had absolutely no problems with it. I am in the process of getting a suspension lift to add onto it as I speak. So good luck and show pics, since I can't because I don't have enough money to buy a digi cam.....

Forget about the camera. Get the suspension. That will feel a lot better.
Stump-Jumper:
The 3" body lift runs in between $120.00 and $135.00 without shipping and can be found at most 4x4 dealers like Summit, JCWhitney, 4WPW and others.
Powerstroke73:
I think both are great kits, but I can give my opinion based in the Performance body lift. It is a great kit at a great price. Regarding the process of lifting just go to the side of your truck and for moment just imagine the bed being lifted all the way up. At one point the bed will hit the cab because of the design of the new body where they are the closest. So that's the reason you will need the two jacks. Good luck with your project. Let me know if you need more information.

JMTruck,
That is all they cost? I live about a half hour from Summit Racing And will probably go buy a lift if you are correct. Is that price for a certain brand? I would also like to know what exactly comes in the kit. How hard is the installation? Please help me.

Nope; I was in communications, and we did provide services to, (if I remember correctly) SDVT-1? alot of my closest friends were on the team though.
I did go on a ten day project to the island of Kaho'olawe for ordnance cleanup. I'll never forget, they (EOD) set off 48 old warheads(sp)? that was the most pumped up I ever remember feeling. What a rush, I loved it. To this day I've never found anything that made me feel the way I did when those things went off.
hehehheheheheh BOOM !

Yes that's their price. And if you don't get the fax from NavyEOD just let me know I can send a file via email with the body lift instructions so you can judge by yourself how hard is to install one of this.

I have one thing to add to the aboves. You don;t actually need two jacks. What I did was jack the front up a little each time, and the bed is so light, that you can lift it up and place 2x4s between the bed and frame, then go back and continue with the front and repeat until you clear the spacers. Also, I am more that happy with my Performance Acc. lift...
