turning squeek

i have a 1997 f150 with 2wd with 180K miles on it , whit i am sitting still or not going very fast and i turn the wheel, it makes a squeeking noise. i know it is something to do with the suspesion, but i don't know exactly what it is. my uncle's truck with only 90K miles does it too and i have herd numerous 97-98 f150s doing it. mine has just started doing it more recently as i have put more city mile on it. 160K of my miles are highway.

most likely it is your pittman arm. They are factory sealed at the factory and there is no grease zert on it. you can replace it or do what i did. Get a grease gun and a needle tip fitting for it. Jab the needle into the pittman arm and give it a few shots. it will stop squeaking almost immediately. you can dab some silcon sealer if you like over the needle holes to keep out water. If you have access to a grease gun, it is a $3 fix.

Thumbs up Turning squeak

Tried the needle grease fitting. Works great. Thanks for the idea.
