staggered shocks

I was driving through the dealer lot a few weeks ago and noticed that some of the new F-150's have staggered shocks, and some still have both facing rearward. Of course the salesmen knew nothing about it, anyone here heard anything about it? Sorry if this has been covered to death already.

Super Crew has staggered rear shocks. Both rear shocks on Regular and Supercab are mounted on the back side of the axle tube.

Why are just the Supercrew's being made this way? I have heard for years that staggered shocks are better at preventing wheel hop and axle rap...Che*y's have had them for years. Main thing I am wondering I guess, would there be any benefit to me trying to convert my reg. cab 4X4 to staggered shocks using the Screw as an example/template? No I don't drag race it...

I wouldn't worry about it. Experts now say that the staggered setup doesn't help a whole lot with stability.

Cool, thanks! Haha, especially won't help today since I'm driving around with about 800 lbs. of topsoil in back. Not much chance of wheelhop.
