Post Squeeky Front end

Hey Everyone.

I've noticed recently that when i got up my driveway, over curbs, small toyotas and the like, My 1999 120" ORP Front susupension makes a creaky/squeeky noise. If i could record it i would but...

Any suggestions? Sounds like maybe some bushings or somewhere where the spring is housed? Maybe some grease/lube?
***
I should add that it's only noticeable when i roll over something with both front wheels hitting the object at the same time. If I go over with each wheel independantly, it's not noticeable. For what it's worth...
***

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Dean

Talking

hey bambino,
i had the same problem when I hopped a small curb a few weeks ago and I've heard it can be anything from a pitman arm, to a front end oiling for a fix..
I plan on making a trip to the dealership to get an answer for mine, sounds more like just rubber on rubber instead of metal on metal for my situation.. and i only hear it when I turn the wheel at a dead stop, or a slow roll

Cool

Howdy guys,
I just went through all the front end squeeks and pops and stuff when I installed the Fabtech spindle lift and swaybar.

FWIW, my up and down speed bump, driveway type squeeks were the sway bar bushings. I removed the bolts at the frame ans applied a shot of grease there, replaced the bolts and the noise was gone.

My turning pops and tinks were due to the turning bump stop, located on the back of the spindle and the lower control arm. With the wheels turned, any movement would cause bad noises. A single dab of grease on the point of contact between the spindle and the lower control arm eliminated all the noises.

Good luck....

Exclamation

Thought about the pitman arm, but becuase it only seems like when both tires hit something at the same time - i ruled it out (for some reason)

It might have stemmed from when i caught a couple feet of air in the truck burning down a logging road in BC. When i did the out of province inspection, when i moved to AB - they told me that it looked like part of the subframe was bent. There is a good punch in the front skid plate, and the cross beam under the motor is scraped up. But the truck drives straight and does not wander on the road - even with 63,500kms on it.

More of an annoyance than anything else - i'll see what i can do about lubing it somewhere and let you know.

Still open to any other suggestions...

Thx fellow members.

Hey its nice to know that I am not the only one that burns down logging roads. When I had my 98 f150 2wheel drive, I caught some air with the front 2 tires. It wasn't pretty when they came out of orbit and landed. The left front tire hit first. It landed on a rock the size of a softball. That rock poked a hole in those "sturdy"(not) stock tires. That hole was to big to fix. When the otherside hit, it knocked the alignment all out of wack. for what it was worth it was kinda fun.lol. New tires and alignment job.Better than new. My current truck weighs so much more, that it hasn't even tried to lift off yet.

I had the same problem with my truck also. It drove me nuts trying to figure out what it was. I even took it to a local midas shop and they could not figure it out. I tried the torsion bars, had the pitman arm replaced and had all two of the grease zerts greased up front. Then one day I was out in my garage under my truck changing my oil when I noticed that if I shake the truck back and forth and up and down my right front shock was loose at the top and the squeek noise was their. I tighened the shock and now the noise is gone. Make sure you check both shocks.
