Question Anyone lower their truck at home ...

Judt wundering how hard it is to do the new rear hangers, those rivets seem pretty tough to remove.

The springs don't scare me, just those hangers.. and having to put the truck back to stock in the future might be scarey.

As a matter of fact there is someone right here in the DFW area that has done their own "driveway drop". I will warn you if you do your own drop you NEED an air compressor, a lot of time, and quite a bit of patience. It took me about a day and a half to install the entire drop.

Cool

I did a DJM 2/4 drop in my driveway. I used an angle grinder to cut the heads off the rivets on the hangers and an air chisel to punch the rivets out. It's not that difficult to do, it just takes some time. You can return the truck to stock if you keep all of the parts you take off. You can put the stock hangers back on with the bolts you use on the dropped hangers.

Thumbs up

I also did a 2/4 drop in my driveway. I used a grinder to cut the heads off the rivets and an air chisel to punch the rivets out. Do whatever you can to get it as high as possible because there is not much room to work with. On the last 2 rivets I tried a different way. Attached an elbow to the drill and then drilled the center of the rivet out and used a Air Chisel to break the heads off.

Thanks guys, I was worried about doing the back to stock thing.. have access to an air compressor and all the tools so it seems to be a DIY project for me..

Now has anyone done the FRP/Ground force kit? How is the ride quality? Kit quality??
