I installed the Reflex shocks front and back. The originals only had 5k on them. Install was easy but I had to use the original rubber booties for the backshocks. The handling was certainly improved, the 'cadillac' bounce over large bumbs is totally gone and the roll in turns is diminished. The ride is a tiny bit harder than stock but it handles bigger dirtroad bumbs much better. You also get a bit more roadfeel rather than the driving on jello feeling.
I like them a lot for road and light offroad travel. Don't know about heavy off road use. Of course the streets here in New Orleans could qualify as extreme road conditions.
Not a bad mod for the money, certainly cheaper than the Edelbrocks. It was worth it to me.

How's about the name/number for that local dealer that sells them for $27! That's a great price.

I too put Monroe Reflex on my Expy. I replaced the OE @ 50K. I have 10K on the Reflex.

-Highway bounce reduced significantly.

-Roll/Lean couldn't tell too much difference, maybe a slight improvement.

-Still get front end bounce over speed bumps, but the Reflex improved that over the OE's by about 30-40% or so.

-HUGE improvement when you hit a pothole!!! The truck stays centered and absorbs the shock very well. Seems like the Reflex allows the tire to stay in contact with the road.

Over all, I would give them a thumbs-up! For the price, I dont think you can beat them! I payed about $37 online (shockwarehouse.com??).

My interpretation is that they do the same thing as the Edelbrock IAS shock for less than half the price. I do think the Edelbrocks probably give better performance.

Thumbs down

Gabriels'VST's aren't as good as either one of
these two. I could feel multiple rebounds
within a few hundred miles. I have Monroe gas magnums on the front now
and they're much better. Just a word of
advice, If your bed feels like it's full of jello,
The backs are bad, too. It's the wierdest
feeling,,,,,,,,98

Cool

I just installed these this weekend. So far, I am pretty happy with the results. I put them on in two stages: I did the fronts first, and noticed that the steering wander I had in certain situations is now gone. Dip in braking was slightly decreased, and wheel hop over large bumps was decreased. I did the rears today, and they had an even bigger effect. Dip under braking is nearly gone, the ride is firm, but handles big potholes with ease, etc... I am a happy camper so far.

I got mine at Checker for a little under $140 for all four. Installation was really easy, getting the old ones off sucked! Man, all the salt on the roads in the winter time does some bad things! The threads on the front shocks were soo bad, I broke one of the mounting studs even after it had been soaked in penetrating oil. At least it didn't take too long to get that one off. The rears were a piece of cake, although there isn't a lot of room to work with on the top. The restraining straps that came with the rear shocks held them at the perfect length for installation - they dropped right in the brackets. Overall, they seem to be good buy.
