Post INCREASE STABILITY?? HOW??

I have a 98 Expy 4X4 and was wondering if there is a simple and/or cheap way to increase the safety of the vehicle. In other words, decrease the chance of roll while avoiding an accident?

I replaced the OE shocks with Monroe Truck Reflex. They do the same thing as the Edelbrock IAS. Maybe not as good though?

What can I do, if anything?

Don't want the truck to ride harsh!

I'm not sure if Expys came with an anti-roll bat in back. If not, definately get one. If so, you could upgrade front and rear with stronger bars. This will limit the body roll in a turn. Other than that, I don't know. It's a 4x4, they are inherently top-heavy compared to a car or a 4x2.

If you are not going to lower the center of gravity of your Expedition by lowering the suspension, then premiun shocks and front and rear anti-sway bars will help with stability wihtout getting involved in too much expenses or going through major surgery.

I am looking to get, very soon, Rancho's RS5000 shocks and a Hellwig rear sway bar.

I forgot one more thing that's not expensive. Changing all the rubber bushings to polyurethane bushings helps a lot with stability. I am not sure if all of them are already available but I suggest you to contact Daystar, Prothane or Energy Suspension and check with them for late models availability.

Dunka!

Much obliged....

I'll look into the bushings and sway bar. I did have trouble with wind on a recent trip!

Thanks again!

Question

JMTruck,

Do you know the $ for the Hellwig sway bars? Are you purchasing online, if so, from who? I was told that I would need to do some minor mods on the rear one. Haven't heard anything about the front ones. Have you heard anything?
