Best way to level out the front end?
I was looking at the truck today, (again) and decided that I wanted to raise the front end to be more level with the rear. I've heard of people adjusting the torsion bars, and I've also heard good, and bad things about it. I read my new owner's manual, and I found nothing about "adjustable torsion bars." What's my best bet? It'd be nice to adjust the bars, but I only have 900 miles, and don't want to, A: have to get an alignment already, and B: screw anything up. (i.e. the TOE.) BTW, what is the TOE? TIA!!!
Damn, too many acronyms.

Torsion bar cranking is definately the cheapest including the cost of an alignment. The downfall is it will drive alot more rough than before.WHen you crank the bars, it makes the tires wear the outside of the tread, unless it is aligned.I did it to my truck and it looks so much better I don't mind the stiffer ride(after all it is a truck.

Thanks man...what how does this effect the "TOE"? I've also heard that this may cause the torsion bars to "snap." I've messed up too many "toys," doing stupid-kid things. BTW, I'll be 21 in 2 months.

I have never heard of torsion bars snapping.wierd.If you are afraid to do it yourself you local alignment shop should do it for ya.My local shop said it would costaround 75 bucks for the crank and alignment. They also said they wouldn't raise it up more than 1 1/4 inches.Mine is raised 1 3/4 inches and it is level.I had a friend and longtime ford owner help me out.I didn't even know where to find the bolts to crank. He also had an air ratchet set .took all of 5 minutes.maybe less. The toe is kinda hard to explain.(at least for me)cranking the torsion bar somehow puts most of the weight of the front end on the outside edge of the tire-like the tires are pinching inward(actually they are).that makes the truck only want to go straight. It felt wierd until I got the alignment. If ya like your tires make sure and get the alignment done asap after the cranking.BTW I am only 27 so I can relate.Could you post a picture of the fender to airbox side of your modified airbox?
