Question Bigger Coil Springs?!?!

What does it take to get larger front coils on a 4x2 to make the front even with the bakc? Money wise and what do I gotta replace?

Waldo-
Have you considered lowering the rear with an aftermarket shackle. I've read in other threads that this provides a 1.5" to 2" lowering of the rear for $50 plus or minus. That is the route I believe I will take, anyway.

To raise the front of an f-150 you gotta get larger coils, the cam kit, and an a-arm kit. They sell just coils but from what i've seen just the coil is horrible in ride, and the toe of the alignment is all messed up even with the cam kit. You could always get a 3 in spindle in the front and a 1.5 block in the back that way you keep the stock ride and still get the height.

yup.

front: (I personally think cams are a scam)

coils 3" (dont bother with the 2", trust me there)

new arms (needed for coils)

spindles 3" (require 4.5" max backspacing on rims)
(makes the 3" lift a 6" lift)

rear:

my favorite, add-a-leafs 1 1/2"

then, whatever size blocks you need to level it. (kit usually comes with 4" blocks and bolts & shocks)

Thump, Thump, What was that? I dunno? Let's back up and see. Thump. Thump. I think it hit it again. What was it? I dunno? Pull forward and see. Thump. Thump. Hmmm. Must be the wind.

35's fit the 6.5" lift. But be prepared to trim for tires.

Personally I'm not going any higher than the 3" lift with 285/75/16's. Love that 18MPG and dont want silly aftermarket rims on there quite yet.

I guess I will share my input again. My truck was also way lower in the front. All I did was the 3" spindles and alignment, no cams, shocks or blocks or anything, and my truck looks very level. I put a few pics on my website from a few different angles, so you can see what that looks like. I have heard that our trucks have different front to back height differences from the factory, though, anywhere from 1.5" to 2.5" lower in the front. My advice is to buy the 3" spindles, install them, and then see if you want some blocks in the back. Good luck, and let us know what happens.

Well, That's strange.

My truck sits exactly like CR1's just draw in a super-cab.

I'm using a 2" coil, arms and a 2" add-a-leaf. Puzzling.

If those stock rims fit the spindles, do it.

The coils are bouncier.
