Question Edelbrock or Bilstein ???

.....or another brand??? What is the best replacement for originals on a 97 Lariat SC 5.4 4x2 used 100% onroad, and never hauling anything much heavier than a few kegs of beer and 500 lbs of crawfish???

Edelbrocks will give a slightly "softer" ride. Both are good shocks. I'm installing some Gabriels on the F150 tomorrow. If they suck, then it's another set of Eds...

Have the Edelbrocks on my Expy and had them on my 97 Explorer. They are pricey, but well worth the investment. You get excellent dampening on hard bumps, and they remove lateral roll (more of an issue with SUVs). Concerning the Bilsteins, general consensus is a stiffer ride compared to the Edelbrocks.

Good luck with your selection...

The Rancho "RS 9000s" will let you adjust your ride according to your personal taste and hauling situation. Bilsteins/Edelbrocks are great shocks, but there isn't much you can do if you don't like the ride.
