advice on lowering

looking for advice on lowering my stock 98 f150. i have the original tires and rims, and not looking to get rid of them. however, i want to lower my truck.

looking for suggestions on front and back amounts to lower. i'm not really familiar with all the terminology and logistics of lowering, but i do know that i want to do it, with perhaps more custom mods in the future.

so, how much to lower the front and back? like i said i want to keep the same wheel and tire sizes. so, how much of a dump can i do to stay at or just below the top of my tires.

also, what are the implications if any, beyond tach issues.

thanks

I'm going to do the Hothckis 2/3 drop and I plan on keeping my stock Lariat wheels for the foreseeable future.

I will be several weeks since the front coils are back ordered, but yes, I will. I will put them in my gallerey over @ FTW. I'll try to remember to post here. There's a link to it in my profile.
