Question 2wd F150 Shock Upgrade

I was thinking of ordering Koni special shock absorbers front/rear to help smooth out the ride on my truck.

I have a 2001 F150 SuperCab 2wd, stock suspension, with '99 lightning rims and 285/55/18 Pirelli Scorpion zero tires. I recently changed to the new wheels and like the appearance and handling improvements but am disatisfied with the ride quality.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with shock upgrades on a similarly setup vehicle? I have read about the Koni specials and have almost decided to buy them but don't know if there will be a noticeable improvement to justify the cost.

Thanks

If you're talking about the red shocks, part numbers 30-1658 & 30-1659, they are adjustable. You can adjust the rebound to suit your tastes and driving habits to +20%, +50% and +100%. However, I have no personal experience with them.

Thanks, I was told by tirerack.com tech support to use the factory setting and adjust as the valving wears to maintain shock performance.

Post Konis 30-1659

I recently changed my stock rear shocks to Konis 30-1659.
They are adjusted to Position 1 right now, I think that's a bit stiffer than the stock shocks. I am thinking about changing them to position 0.

They are quite expensive though.
I paid $165 each.

Ouch! They can be had here for $80 each from Summit Racing.
