Post 6" suspension???

I had my 2000 5.4 lifted up 6". A-arms, spindals, Bilstein shocks, Eibach coils, the whole shot. I had this done 6 months ago and it has always made noises but now it really squeaks over bumps or when i stop or accelerate. Is this normal or does the place i went too suck? Im hoping it just needs to be relubed or something. If anybody knows anything about gear ratios, what size gears do i need now? My stock tires were 235 R16 and know i have 285/75-16. My current gears are 3:55.

Hey Ryshark5, Im not too familiar with 2wds, but with 6" of total lift, one would have to expect some sqeakiness and some bad characteristics to come from their truck.
As for the gear changing....if you're running 285's with the 5.4 liter engine, you should be ok, but if you're like me and notice just a tiny bit of acceleration missing from your truck, a set of 4.10 gears would bring you back up (and add a little too), but if you are ever planning on going bigger, like to a 35" tire, 4.10's would still be fine, but if I were you, I'd move all the way up to 4.56. Just my two cents worth, have a nice one!

Ryshark5,
You didn't say if the rear of you truck had been lifted at all and if so, how. The front squeaking may just be the upper control arm bushings in need of lube. I know fabtech has zerk fittings, I don't know about camburg. Also, check your shocks. There is enough play at the top mounting hole of your front shocks that you can actually mount your shocks so they touch the inside of your coil springs.
As for the rear, if it was lifted with "add a leafs", they could squeak when accelerating when the rear "winds up", causing the "add a leaf" to rub against the original spring pack.
Just my 2 cents....

I appreciate everybodys 2cents. Souds like a lot of good suggestions. The back of my truck has 3" spacers and two bilstein shocks. CR1, youre right i did get my lift done at Camburg in Huntington Beach. I think im going to go with the 4:10. The ratio closest to your equation. Hopefully it is only the a-arm bushings, im going to call a lift shop and see what it runs to get them lubed.

Hey, RyShark, we need to see some pics of your truck. Sounds like the same setup I will have one day. Since we are from the same city, maybe I could take a look at the truck. The squeakiness may just be from the bushings on the A-arms. Sounds like the Camburg kit if I had to guess, and I know they stand behind their product. Where did you get your lift done? Let me know, and hopefully we can get together sometime.

The lift shouldn't sqeak at all. The fact that you have 6 inches of lift means nothing, because the coils don't sqeak and the spindles just change the location of where you mount the tiress. I would go get it checked out cause somethings wrong. My 2 cents.
