Body Drop Question
I am looking into slamming my f-150 on the ground. I want the lowest possible drop for my extended cab. It seems that a body drop is in necessary along with full air suspension. I understand that there are many ways to drop this truck (i.e., lower/upper control arms, air-bags, shock relocator, etc.) for the front and a flip kit or four-link suspension for the rear. My question is regarding the body drop that the lowest trucks have. What is this? Is this something that can be done at home? Is the floorboard raised, allowing the body to sit lower on the trucks chassis? Any info and/or pictures of what a body drop is are appreciated. Thanks guys.

the body drop is where u raise the floor to allow the body to sit lower on the frame. Something u can do @ home? U better be DAMN good with metal work and down to spend alot of time. If u havent done one be4, or seen one, i strongly suggest against it. This truck is extremely hard to body drop. U have to move ur firewall back to accomodate the engin. Altough urs being v6, im not sure how it will work out. All ur fenderwells need to be cut out. the bed has to be sectioned. Expect to pay @ least 2-3 thousand at a shop. I got mine for 2200, and the shop that did it swore never to do another for less than 5g's. The shop should have alot of experience, if seen ALOT of hacked body drops. All of ur acessories will need to be moved, ur computer and cruze control, ull lose one of ur windsheild wipers (altho maybe not with the v6). If ur truck is a daily driver, forget it.

Thanks for the insight. Dude, your ride is sweeeeeet. You really made your point about it not being for a daily driver. I wish to retain the utility of my truck, so I'll probably just go with full air, 3/8 inch tubing, and a custom fabbed C-section (which is actually a fully boxed-in bridge). This will be a lot of work, but I've done this sort of install on a Chevy b4. I guess I'll just leave the ground scrappin' to you guys fortunate to have daily drivers other than your fords. Thanks for the reply.
