Update-Wandering steering
Had my first oil change done and had them check out my steering while they had it. Mechanic stated he took it out for a drive and it did not pull to either side. I said no kidding, that's not the problem, so I explained the problem to him (after already explaining to the numbnut that I dropped it off too) and he said that it had very sensitive steering and that was a characteristic of these trucks. Really a load of BS! So anyway, he did confirm that I have 12 months or 12000 miles for a free alignment. I think I will wait a few thousand more miles and have the alignment done. Any other suggestions?

The truck wanders. It doesn't pull left or right but it never feels like it is on-center. Takes excessive (by my standards) corrections to keep it in the middle of the road. It does better on some roads and completely goes away on others but overall it is annoying. After I picked it up I thought it was just something I had to get used to. Later I lowered the front tire pressure from 35 PSI to the recommended 26 PSI and that helped some. From your excellent description I would have to guess I have excessive toe-in??
My guess would be toe-out.
Easy to check.
Jack up one wheel at a time.
Spin wheel and mark a nice line with chalk.
Spin wheel while scribing a sharp line with a nail properly supported so that the line is true.
set the truck down and hand-push it forward at least one revolution of the tires.
Measure closely between the lines in front of the tires and behind the tires.
From the difference in measurements you will have a very accurate idea of your toe-in/out.
Correct/adjust from there.
It's simple, but just as accurate as laser (and doesn't need any calibration) if you are accurate with your measurements.
