Post Coil spacers or coil lift?, and alignment

I was lookin to lift the front of my truck up a bit. The spindle lift is alittle too drastic....for now. But i was looking into getting 1-1.5 in coil spacers. Does anyone have any feedback on this? The other option was getting the 2.5 fabtech kit, but i heard this realy kills the ride, and that its impossible to align. With the coils can the alignment cam correct everything, or is it even needed at all? And will it justify the need for new shocks (most likely Rancho RSX's).

Ive read that the coil spacers cheapness is kinda offset by the need for an alignment kit that is needed. The toe is thrown off by the additional height in the coil i believe. Im not sure how much it is but CCLA would be a good one to give a shout to..he'll probably end up finding this thread anyway. He's always nice enought to help on this subject.

Take care,

To be honest, I haven't had the truck aligned yet since the spacers. It tracks straight and no funny tire wear yet.

Is this a safe operation to be done...I mean are the spring compressors safe cause those springs are beasts. And how much are they to rent because i heard at local shops its about 50 bucks to install, and if I need new longer shocks (to try and even out any ride discrepencies/cope with the height) then it might be easier to have a shop do it, but if I don't need new shocks then it might be better to do it myself.

I'm running the stock shocks still. I do want some others though. The Shocks do have to come out to do it though. Spring compressor cost me a 100 deposit that i got back upon return of the tool. no charge other than that. I rented it from Autozone

What size lift do you get with the coil spacer, because doesnt the coil compress some when you put the spacers in?, and how did they effect the ride quality?
