Cool ccla

Hi where can i buy coil spacers like you have on your truck. i know it will rough up my ride a little but i want about an 1 or 2 inches of lift in the front and dont want to spend alot for a little lift. If i get the spacers in the front do i need new shocks or will my stock one work just fine. how much are they and what sizes do they come in.

Thank for the help,
JDm
P.S. how do i get pictures in my signature

AIM (chassis tech)has spring spacers for $70 a pair. They advertise lifts of up to 3". Their number is 1-800-636-6947. I hope this helps.

I think ccla got his from the auto parts store. I know I've seen them there before. You can probably get them from 1, 2 and 3 inches. You shouldn't need to get new shocks until you pass 2 inches.

I got them from a place like Napa or Discount Auto Parts. ( I can't remember now ) they were $7.00 each and are 1". 1" is the only size I've seen. And I do not have new shocks ( Yet ) The Kind I have look like a rubber doughnut. Round and hollow with a groove in it for the spring to fit in. Mine are in the lower control arm with the spring on top of it.

Rent a spring compressor from Autozone or something like that. Compress the spring and slide the spacer under the spring and then uncompress the spring.

Dunno about Pep boys. Brand is called "Help"

You'll need to rent that spring compressor from Autozone. Then It would really help to have an impact wrench. Otherwise I'd let a shop do it.

ccla,
Does the coilspacer slide right under or does the shock have to be moved to get it in place. You said something about an impact wrench, what is that for?

thanks,
J.D.

The Shocks must come out to do it. The impact wrench is to tighten the spring compressor. Otherwise your arm is gonna be REAL tired afterward.

Question

CCLA, did your coil spacer come with a cut thought one side, if so cant you just open the cut up so it will just slide in around the shock

We might have done that if we didn't need to remove the shock to get the spring compressor in there.
