Post Clearify a couple of things

Ok, so I think I have decided how to lift my '97 2wd F150, but I want to make sure I have everything right. By the way, thanks for the help CR1. The magazine you recommended was very helpful. What I'm currently thinking is getting the Chasis Tech 3" spring and a-arm kit now and then add a Chasis Tech 3" spindle kit if I wanted more lift. Will this work? Maybe opposite order? Also, What is the difference between Rancho and Pro Comp shocks? The Pro Comps are so much cheaper. Are they a lot poor quality? Thanks for the help again guys.

P.S. How do I change my profile and signiture info?

Hey, Brian, bad news, dude. I just called the Chassis Tech dealer and they said they don't have the lift spindles available for our trucks. Those bastards! Anyway, they do have the spring and arm kit available. Just thought I should let you know what I found. If I were you, and I had the money, I would do the 6" of lift all at once. I did the spindles alone, and my truck looks about 100% better, but I will not be truly happy until I get the full 6" of lift.

In the June 2000 issue of OFF ROAD, there is an ad for the kit at $349.99. This includes: uppper arms, 3" lift coil springs, and heavy duty ball joints. Shocks are not included, though. The shop is AIM, which I think is the same company as Chassis Tech, just the sales division. Their number is 1-800-696-6947. By the way, if you don't have this issue of OFF ROAD, get it. It has a lot of very helpful information on suspension. Good luck, JDm, and keep me updated on your decision.

Before you guys buy from the companys that seem to be cheaper, make sure they are able to use other spindles or if their a arms will work with other lifts...Just my 2 cents..you will want to go higher than 3 or 3 1/2 inches...I still want to go higher, its adicting....Dave

Yea I was thinking the same thing. If Chassis Tech dosen't have the spindles for the F-150 (even though the ad says so), hopefully a Bullseye or someone else would work. My goal is to have a modular design that I can upgrade as I go (my mt. biking already hinders my limited high school budget). Something like 3" of lift now and 3 more in a couple of months would be great. Talk to you later.

brian h-
You might consider starting with the spindle lift first and then the a-arm kit if you are going to do it in phases. Just an idea. I know Dave did it the other way around so get his opinion as well.

Yea, I'm still trying to decide which way to go. I might call AIM today and find out about the compatibility of their a-arms with other spindles. Also, can anyone compare the Pro Comp shocks to Ranchos? For the money, do Pro Comps perform well? I don't plan on doing a lot of heavy offroading or anything. Thanks again.

Yeah, I'm considering the Pro-comps shocks right now. I will go with them or the Ranchos. I don't know yet. Let me know if you find out.
