Torsion Bars
Has anybody done the torsion bar tightening to lift the front of the truck up. I did it on another truck of mine and I am thinking of doing it to this one. I am wondering if I have to get the truck aligned and if I can actually get the truck level.......Thanks steve

I cranked each one of my torsion bar's adjustment bolts 4 complete turns. This gave me an increase of a little over 1 inch in height. Looks good. My truck now sits level from front to rear. I'm not sure if it was enough to affect the alignment though. I took it in anyway to my Ford dealer for a free alignment prior to the 12000 mile mark on the odometer. They didn't have anything to remark about concerning the actual alignment.

Did you have to jack up the front end when doing it? I've heard some people say you have to. But a friend of mine at work did it to his Blazer and said he didn't have to, but he did have to gat an alignment.

Oh yes! This is recommended. I jacked up each tire separately when I adjusted the bars. Raising the tire off of the ground will take the strain off of the adjusting bolt so that the cam will turn the torsion bar with less resistance. No sense in working against the weight of the front end while you're turning the nuts.
And if you don't like the look, just simple reverse the procedure.
