Post 2wd to 4x4 conversion

hi i realy love my 1999 2wd f15 reg cab. the only problem is that is a 2wd not a 4x4. does any one know how to do the convesion to a solid axle with coils, or where i can get it done and how much it would cost.

Thanks for the help,

what you need to do is sell your truck and buy the exact one only in 4x4. it would end up costing about 3000 or moire dollars to make the conversion because you have to get the axle the drive shaft new computer and alot more for it to perform correctly.

I agree with svtaudio, sell your two wheel drive and buy what you want in a four wheel drive. You will save money in the long run.

I'll second all that. JDm, you have to replace a lot of stuff. You need to buy a front axle, all the steering components, 2 new driveshafts because the rear one will be to long to fit between the transfer case and rear axle, a transfer case, all the necesary adapters and shifting setups, and all the other stuff I am not thinking of. Although, If that is what you are truly dying to do, in Off-Road Magazine (i think), some one did that to their F150. It is called Overkill and is a very sweet truck.
