Post Will body lift kit void warranty???????

I have new 2000 4x4 arriving in 2-3 weeks. I would love to perform a mild body lift to truck but I have been told that it will void the warranty. I assumed it would but I would love to hear otherwise.

Thanks in advance for any info.

In order for it to void the warranty, the dealer will have to show it in fact caused what ever is covered by the warranty to fail....Dave

atleast thats what i have been told.....

hey, i was told by my local off road shop that a body lift will not void the warranty, while any sort of suspension lift will. i guess it all depends on who you talk to.

Like Dave mentioned it probably depends upon what breaks and on the dealer's attitude? I would assume a suspension lift would void your suspension warranty but may not affect your drivetrain warranty. However, if something goes "pop"...and you have lifted it and put on bigger than stock tires (defined as those that wouldn't fit on the truck w/out the lift)..the dealer may argue that the tires caused the drive failure ...and how did you get such big tires on the truck....the lift. Then again if it is a mild lift the dealer may not even notice it...the luck of the draw.

I would probably at least break in the truck to make sure there are no major warranty issues right off the bat.

...personally I bought used w/ about 3K left on warranty then after I made sure everything was a-ok....I started yanking stock parts.....

Thanks everyone for the response.

I am getting a 7700 S/C 4x4 and I think I will go with a mild body lift to be safe. I already have a set of 285/75/16 that are going on the truck from day one. The 245/75 tires that come stock are absolutely awful.

I will post pictures when I finish the lift.

Thanks again.
