Cool

Wicked,

Depends on how you want to lower, and how low you want to go. I just lowered mine with a 3/5" kit ordered from sporttruck direct (Western Chassis and Eibach components)

With coil spring up front, you can only go 3 inches. You can combine this with shaclkes and hangers (getting the rivets out of the frame to replace the hangers was a bitch!)for up to 5 inches in the read. The kit I have from western chassis was adjustable from 3 to 5 inches for the rear. Bell Tech also makes a 3/4 kit that you can buy here at F150 Online. The Roush kit from Roush Racking replaces the rear leaf springs for 3.5 inches in the rear which is easier to do, but the kit from them is harder to find and more expensive.

For more drop than that you have to also replace the a-arms in the front and use a flip kit in the rear. The flip kit also has plates to use on the frame because you have to "notch" the frame to allow for more axle travel. You can get a 4/6 inch drop with this kit. You can find them in adds in truckin' magazine.

And for the ultimate drop you can go with an air suspension kit that is adjustable. You can even sit the body on the ground when it is parked, but this package would require the vehicle to be aligned at the desired ride height determined by the air pressure. This way is also much more expensive at $2500 or more.

Thanks a lot for the info Chris, unfortunately I don't think I will be traveling down this road as soon as I had hoped... Yesterday 2/28 every custom truck owner's nightmare happened to me... I was involved in a hit and run... My truck was parked in a local mall parking lot and as I am worried about other people and my ride, I usually park quiet a bit away from everyone else, well someone slammed into my truck while I was in the mall, and when I say slammed I mean slammed, the whole driver's side is smashed in... Est. $7,750.00 worth of damage... I am pissed... Thanks for the info though I appreciate it, when I get it back if it is worth it I think I am gonna go with the air ride suspension just some fyi... Thanks again...
Luke

With all that power, I would look at the Rousch suspension. It nets 3"in front and 3.5" in the back, but handles great. There are several Lightning owners that have added the Rousch to improve handling. It is more expensive than other routes. My son in law (Mumbly) has their complete package and loves it
