How about adjusting the torsion Bars to lower the front a inch, and then putting 2 inch shackles in the rear to level the truck. Anyone done this, and will it work?

Chris,

Your right about the cam adjusters I had it done too. My shop told my the same thing that there just isn't enough adjustment without the cam bolts to line the front end up correctly.

I don't remember what it cost. I purchased wheels and tires at the same time.

ford will do the first alignment under warranty and will give you the shims as well under warranty. I am going to raise mine to level out the truck and it will need the cam for sure this way i wont have to pay for them. I spoke to a few dealers around here, none would tell me that the first alignment was free i had to ask about it, I have a appoinment this week to have it done. P.S. i would'nt mention that you raised the bars though it might cause you some problems.

Cranked my torsion bars last night. Put 4 turns on the adjusting bolts which gave me 1" of lift on each side. Used the jack that came with the truck to reduce the weight on each side as I adjusted the bars. Easy to do. Have an appointment tomorrow to get the alignment redone by Ford before the 12 month, 12K period expires. Certainly won't tell them what I did, we'll see how much this affected the present alignment....
