Question suspension lift?

I am in need for more height. I just don't know what avenue to take. Lift Kit?,Body Lift?,or possibly enhancing my suspension? although I don't know if that is possible. If anyone could take the time to let me know the pros and cons of each it would be greatly appreciated.Thank You.

It all depends on how high you want to go. If you don't want that high of a lift then you could crank the torsion bars, install a body lift, or go with a suspension lift. You can gain about 1.5" with the torsion bars cranked. Stiffens ride alittle, but cheap lift! If you want higher, then you have 2 options. You could go with a 3" body lift for around $150.00, or you could go 4" or higher with a suspension lift for over $1,100.00!
If you do a lot of hauling, then you don't want the body lift. It separates the bed from the stiffeners that run across the frame under the bed. This decreases the hauling strength of the bed. Plus if your body mounts are already bad, then you'll have extra work to do. The advantage is your ride is unchanged.
If you plan on using your truck all around, a suspension lift is the way to go. It is more expensive, but the new parts are a lot of times heavier than the factory. Truck will be more "heavy duty" like . The ride will be a lot different, somewhat stiffer.
It basically depends on what you're going to use the truck for. If you want it for looks, go the the body lift. If you want it for purpose, then spend the extra money on a suspension lift. If you want to go up just an inch or so, then crank the torsion bars.
Hope this helps!

SirJames,

Won't help with the suspension question but how do you like your stealthbox.

I've got one too but sometimes I feel like I wish I had a little more. Just curious how you like yours.

Thanks Greg......

Funkster, Thanks for the advice. I already cranked on the torsion bars. The only problem is my tires started to wear uneavenly. Is there any way to correct that do you know.As far as a body lift, do you know a good place to get it done.I love my truck and don't want just any joe shmo hackin away. Also my leaf springs in the back seem to be saggin a little. It doesn't sit as high as it once did.Is this a common problem.I don't do alot of hauling. Thanks again...

yetiman, you are correct the two 8's just don't go deep enough. Then again I like the ideal of keeping my back seat. JL Audio also makes a stealth box for the middle console if you have captains chairs. It holds one 10" subwoofer. That will be my next purchase, then maybe with the two 8's and one 10 I can enough punch.
