Question Steering squeak

I had my '97 F150 in for the timing cover gasket recall...got my truck back and now I have a horrible squeaking/clunking from the front left (driver side). The dealer calls this a 'coincidence' but I'm inclined to think they've bent something with their floor jack...they 'may have lifted the front end when they did the work', the service manager and head mechanic weren't sure believe it or not.

Anyone else have a similar problem after service work? Any thoughts as to what they've done to my truck?

More than likely the vehicle was hoisted. I bet that the squeak is coming from your pitman arm. The pitman arm is a common squeak in the front end of these f-series.

Well... when they flushed my tranny at 30K they bent one of the lines and it vibrated against another one and made a moaning sound on acceleration. Sort of like a lose heat shield. Made em fix it. Not the same problem as you but a problem with service like you said. Makes you feel better?

It's the pitman arm... Just took my 4.2 F150 in for the timing cover ONP 22B29 fix and ask the tech (older guy - like me) and he said it was a very commom problem. Not a big problem, just irritating.
