Rough Country
has anyone used rough country parts? I called them, and the have a leveling kit which is just new springs, and is a good amount cheaper than the fabtech setup. I was just curious if anyone had likes or dislikes about them.

I've a 2 wheel drive, standard cab ... I checked with fedex today, and the coils have arrived at the terminal in Greensboro, now I'm waiting on fedex to deliver them to me.

Hey Nitrox, I have a 2wd Reg Cab Too. I was looking into the leveling kit from Rough Country so I could squeeze a couple more inches out. I talked to rough Country today and the guy I talked to said that they only worked on excabs cause of the weight. Now I don't know if the guy I talked to was informed properly so Let me know how they work out would ya? Thanks, Cause if the 35's dont fit after I add my body lift I might be looking that way

I just got off the phone at 9:01p.m. (EST) with the guys from "Rough Country" and I told him about want I had heard about the 2" leveling kit (coil springs) only working on extended cabs, and that I have a standard cab; and his reply was 'that's a new one on me' and that; that was the first time that he had ever heard of that. He also said the spings would work fine, and if I did'nt like them, to just send them back. My mind feels at ease anyways.
Given that the weight of an extended is more than a standard cab, I would think that these springs would'nt give a full 2" of lift, whereas the weight of the standard cab is less and I might get the full 2". Either/Or I think I'll be fine.

Unless of course the coil springs were designed for an extended cab, in which case I would get more than 2" inches of lift because of my truck being lighter.

Interesting note, I talked to my service manager today (who is a friend of mine). He said that it is best to not put any suspension work on a truck for 6-8 months. He said that you need to give the suspension time to break in. I had never thought of this, but he said they adjust them kinda tight at the factory and that they break in at different rates depending on how you use the truck. I guess I won't be leveling the truck for a little while longer than I thought.

Well, I just took those darn springs off of my truck because I could'nt get the front end aligned, even with adjustable cams.
I also ripped the pistons out of both front shocks.
My truck is back to stock now, and I'm planning on keeping it that way. Also the ride was totally shot with those springs on there.
