Question Lowering a 4x4

I was wondering if it is possible to lower a 99 4x4. If I did it I am only looking for a 2 inch drop. If anyone has any ideas let me know
Thanks Don C

Even if I lower it a inch or two it will still be higher than a 4x2.The reason I need a 4x4 is that I live in New England,I like to ski, and we get a lot of snow up here. My last truck was a 93 Lightning, man compared to the Lightning a 4x4 is a huge improvement in the snow.
I would like it to be just a little lower, to make it easier to get in and out of the truck. I plan to put some new rims and tires, 275/60/17, and a rear sway bar. When I do these mods, and if I can lower it a bit, it would handle much better.

Hope that answers your questions

Don C,
There was a good discussion on this topic a while back. Do a search on it and you should find some good info.

Good Luck

A cheap crappy way to lower it, is to crank the torsion bars down. For the back, make it spring under, or find a reverse shackle kit or make it spring under.

Hey DonC
I believe Belltech just came out with a 2 or 3 inch drop for 4X4's. You may want to go to there web site or contact them. I say why not lower a 4x4, it will cut down on that altitude sickness from sitting so high.

thanks fordfixer, and DynoDan
I Called Belltech, all I want are the front torsion bar cams, and some lowering shackles, but they won't sell me a kit like that.
I would like to do a 1.5" front and 3" rear drop, and then put a rear sway bar on.
If they would sell me a set of the front cams, and some shackles I would do it. If they don't want to sell me what I want, or need I'll leave it the way it is , or find another company who is willing to sell a customer what he wants.
I wasn't very impressed with there customer service, and there attitude.

But I thank all you guys for the info.
