Post Want to lower front 2"

I would like to lower my truck 2" in the front but i do not want to use or replace the coils. Does anyone know if somebody makes a 2" lowering spindle? Is this the way to go? or is there something better? Right now i have a 2" drop with shaklesin the rear and the front is stock.

ROUSHFAN1,
how much was the lowering kit? Do you have any complaints or regrets on the quality of the ride? Thanks for the feedback.

I used coils up front and it lowered it 3" as well...piece of cake...took about 20-30 min. per side. Cost was approx. $98.00 for the set of springs and lowered shocks will run ya apprx. $50-100. But man your a$$ end will be sticking up as high as Mt. Everest.

Question

Cableguy,
What springs did you use? Did you have to remove the spindles and all that stuff to install the new springs? Let me know, i would like to do this before the millenium. About the rear, do you think that even with the 2" drop my rear will still be too high?

Cool

veloci,
can i ask why you want to drop the front..do you feel like the rear is sitting to low with the shackles..the reason i ask is because i have been kicking this around for awhile. i have seen 2/4 trucks ( although they look nice and level) sit to low in the rear for me ( my opinion) ..

Cool

Spydog,
I just want to reduce the space between the tire and fender. I love the way the back of my truck looks with the 2" drop.I personally would not go any lower than 2", i agree with you, it is too low( for my taste). I think that if i lower the front 2" i will acomplish the same look as the Harley D. f150.

I used AIM Industries equipment for all my lowering. Yes you have to break loose the spindles to get out the old coil and put the new one in. It took me all of apprx. 30 min. per side.
WHAT 4" too low for the rear...look at mine that is 2" schakles and 2" hangers...total of 4"...I personally dont think it sits too low..geez I still have at least 3" opening in the fender well. and the ride is no different than the stock ride.
I moved from washington state a few months ago...pulled a trailer with 5,200 pounds and had the bed loaded as well..the smoothest ride to date.
GO FOR IT!!!

veloci,
you are right on with that hd f150 look..i think i read in the specs that the hd had a 1" all round drop, but it has 20" wheels to.i do not even think you would notice a 1" drop on our truck..man you will defiantly have to shoot me some pics when you finish dropping the front.

cableguy, there is no doubt that big red looks sweet, it's just an opinion thing..i just think trucks were meant to be higher in the back than in the front...you and caf150 are 2 of the nices trucks on this site..

Cool

hey VELOCI i used a ROUSH RACING suspention comes with== 4 bilstien shocks front coils and re-enginered rear leaf springs...it all cost close to $1000...it handles awsome and the ride isn't bad either the worst part was changing the leafs out but it's not nearly as bad as grinding off hangers(rather shoot myself)if you do change anything i recommend upgrading shocks too!!they make a big difference.......
