Post 2wheel drive lift

Here is my plan-
I want to lift my 98 3 inches with spindles. I then want to put 33 inch (285/75/16- almost 33") tires on the truck. I know that I will loose a decent amount of power but eventualy want to add 4:10's to the rear. Does anybody have this equivelent set up with or with out the new gears? My current gear ratio is a 3:55. I believe the look would be equivelent to a 4x4 with the next tire size up. Any help would be appreciated-
Thanks
RBF

Well If you do the Spindles and a 2" Block or so in the rear. This is what It'll look similar to.

RBF,

Just curious, what engine do you have? If you lose power, gain it back, plus more with a superchip!

RBF, I have the 3 1/2 fabtech lift with the 285 bfgs...4.6,auto, with 3.55s...their may have been a small loss in power but not enough for me to bother with...In the future though after i go all the way (spindles and body lift, largest tires i can) then i will change the gears...also when i added the 285s i am now taller than the stock 4 x 4s..to give you a idea..its 39 1/2 inches from the ground to the inside of my fender wells...top-center...

I have the 5.4L engine, which I know will help more with any power loss. After hearing that Davensa did not loose much power on his truck from his reply I'm not sure if I will change the rear end gears. I need tires bad at this point and my original plan was to spindle lift, get tires and eventually adding the new gears depending on the signifigance of the power loss. Last thing- I think Davensa will best be able to answer this question- What should I expect to see in my already crappy mileage that I am currently getting after adding 285's? (Currently I get about 12.5 mpg city driving)
Thanks

I did the Bullseye spindles with a one inch block and the 285-75-16 BFG's. My truck has the 4.6 and 3.55 gears and will still lite up the tires. I will put 4.11's in when I put my 9" in

I think gas mileage might suffer about 5% but you know after i put in the all the mods and future mod, i like to gas it...and I never cared much about the gas mileage..Iknow the taller I go the less mileage i will get..but i will look good.lol...On the highway though i think it actually got better though...lower rpms..and bed cover...but remember when you set you trip meter, that your speedo is off you it will appear it has made your gas mileage much worse than it is..I have no regrets

Trixman& Davensa-
I was wondering how well the 285/75/16's fill up your wheel wells. I saw what seemed to be an F150 with 285's and a 3 inch lift. The tires on the truck seemed a little small. I want the tires to fill up the wells pretty good. Do any of you have pictures?
Thanks,
RBF

I'm putting fibreglass race fenders on the front and "bulging" the rears to make it look better.
