Post Standard Procedure

Does anyone know if it is standard procedure to fix a squeeking front end by going to every rubber boot and injecting it with grease. Thats what happened when I took my truck in under warranty for a squeek that I some times heard while turning. They stuck a needle in every rubber boot. (ball joints, tie rods etc.) Now I have grease oozing out of the holes. I guess my question is, will the hole expand and eventually spit the boot, or is this what every dealer does?

Is the squeek gone?

Yea, the squeek is gone but I don't like the idea of holes in my boots, that will probally split or let mud and water in.

No, it is not.

They used a needle to pierce the boot? The boots need to remain sealed. If there is no zerk in the joint, it takes no grease. The part is replaced.

Talk to the service manager.
