ORP means off-road package for 4x4s. Scroll down a few threads and you will see "Offroad Package" more details there.

For your application(97, assuming it is a 4X4 Lariat it was the addition of Skid plates, Heavy duty shocks, 17 inch wheels and the stickers that says "4X4 Off Road". You would already have the 3.55 rear end and fog lights as standard in your Lariat Package. You would have needed to option for the rest of the aforementioned add ons to equal a "Larait-Off Road". I have basically created one but have decided not to put 17" wheels on it (tire selection sucks) and did my own Heavy Duty shocks (OEM not as good).

97 F-150 SC Lariat, Styleside, White over Gold, 4.6L (Windsor), Automatic, 3.55 rear end, electronic 4X4, w/ every option of Lariat and ORP packages except the 17" wheels (I even got the OR decals now!), MOD's so far: K&N air box mod, Gibson Super Truck, clear Bugflector II, Leer TSC 600 hard cover, Bridgestone Dueler OWL ATP 265/75 R-16's, TrailMaster Invader N7 shocks, Smittybilt step bars, Ford moulded mud guards, "White-white" head lamps, Bosch platinum + 4's.

Me too. I went with Trailmasters N7's in order to stiffen up the body roll. And get a little better towing ride. These seem to be the shock brand of choice for the serious off roaders around this part of the country. I went with their Invader N7's because they were a little less harsh on the highway than their SSV's. Everyone here online seems to like the Rancho 9000's, Edelbrocks, Black Diamonds(Warn), Trailmasters and just about any good aftermarket seems to perform better for this than the OEM. I do not have any knowledge of the OEM heavy duty ones but some I conversed with have not been very complimentary of their service life.
