Question Control Arm Bushings...

I have a 98 F-150 4x4 and have noticed my rubber control arm bushings are all cracking, almost look like dry rot. I'm sure this is normal (to an extent) but is there a point they need to be replaced? I've seen on the GoRancho site after market replacement parts that look pretty good. Anybody else encounter this? Or done some replacment suspension parts short of a full lift kit?
