Question POP

If I make a sharp turn backing up or going forward, I sometimes get a pop sound. Im going to ask my mechanic to re-torque my suspension but what needs to be retorqed (ie shocks, control arm, etc)?

Thanks!

Could the pop be caused by a limited slip differential? I don't have an LS on my truck (wish I did), but the fact in only happens in tight turns strongly suggests the differential to me. I had a Detroit locker on a '67 Mustang, and it would chirp the inside tire on any tight turn.

Im not sure, it sounds like it comes from the front sometimes and the back at other times.

My brother has a Chevy (I know, I tried to talk him out of it) that exhibited a popping noise from the suspension. The Chevy had a torsion bar suspension much like the F-150's. Evidently there are some bushings that isolate the torsion bars from the frame. His were worn. After he replaced them, walla, no more sound.

Don't know if thats it or not but it sure is worth shimming under the truck to find out!

Good luck!
