The steering shackle broke on my old '97! My mom was driving it and she called me and told me she broke down. I get there and the driver's side front wheel looks like it is almost ripped off! Ford quoted us almost $2000 for the job. Along with the shackle the axle, hub, tie rod, ball joints, and brake line broke.

Anyone ever heard of this happening? Thank God she wasn't driving on the highway, otherwise she would of flipped.

Since I saw that happen, Im going to try and stay away from lifting 1/2 ton trucks.
