Best Riding Shocks
Monroe Sensatrac Shocks or Edelbrock Performer IAS shocks - that is the question (I think). A few years ago I used the Monroe Sensatrac Shocks on my 91 F-150 4X4. The ride really smoothed out.
On a 99 F-150 4X4 supercab, with towing package, which would probably be smoother?
Has anyone compared the Monroe Sensatrac Shocks to stock? Impressions?
Same question for the Edelbrocks. Compared to stock? Impressions?
Thanks!

Funny you should ask this! I just got back from a 200 mile trip today on one of the worst highways in Kansas. The Edelbrocks sure did smooth things out since the last time I was down there.

Thanks for the reply. The factory shocks seem harsh to me on any road but a smooth one. Sounds like the Edelbrocks really helped you. How many miles when you changed?
I checked today and the Monroes Sensatracks are $36.98 and the Edelbrocks are $69.95 each. I'm still wondering for the best ride and with no loss in handeling, which is better.

Bart: I replaced the stock shocks at 50k miles. Concerning the handling - these shocks have what Edelbrock calls an intertia valving system. It's supposed to maintain all of the handling of performace shocks with the cushyness of "soft" shocks.
The truck has noticeably less body roll and except for the foot deep crater type potholes it smooths out all of the bumps.
The price is pretty steep but I think it was worth it - or am I too affected with "Excessive F150 Modification" (EFM) syndrom

Good info - thanks!. I think I'll get the Edelbrocks, but will wait a while. Maybe in a few months the prices will drop a bit.
Mods are what makes the truck yours!
Bet to Ya!
