Cool Rancho RS5000's

Is anyone running the Rancho RS5000's? Sears has a sale on them this week. Any comments, problems, etc....

Thanks,

Ron

A few years back (okay, maybe more than a few ) I had a set of them on a Dodge truck. They didn't last as long as I thought they should, less than 30K miles. I was asking them to control 35" Gumbo Monster Mudders back and forth from college every weekend though. Anybody out there that has Monster Mudders know how hard those tires are to balance. The tires probably shortened the life of the shocks but...

They are priced pretty reasonable and did a good job until they started leaking. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Cool

I've had rs5000's on my jeep wrangler for almost ten years and they haven't failed me yet. I'm thinking about getting some for my truck-need a lift kit and I don't know which to buy yet-but they are very good shocks.

Question

Sale? I know the go for about $40 each. Is it worth going to Sears to pick up a 4 pak?

What I'm really asking without looking at the Sears ads is what's the sale price?

Had ranchos on my old truck and had no complaints.Wondering how much of difference it would make with only 20,000 miles on my truck with the Off Road sticker on it?

The sale price was $37.99 snd I had some kind of a coupon for another $12 off the total. I did call a friend that works for National Tire and Battery and he had 'em for $37.99. He said his cost is $37.50 each.

I went with Trail Masters at $50.00 each. I wanted Black Diamonds (Warn)at about the same price but Warn has recalled them for the 97 without a 4 inch lift. Some problem with them hitting something unless the truck is lifted as i understand it. My point is that no matter which one you go with, aftermarket "upgraded" shocks do indeed help with the body roll in corner and stiffen up the ride well. This has made the most possitive difference in the handling of my truck than anything else I have done. Pick a good one and go for it. Its worth it.
