Post Need help w/ a lift kit

My cousin has a '98 Extended Cab F150 and we want to lift it up 6 in, I was wondering what all was involved..

His tires are nearly gone, so new ones are needed anyways..

So what can we do to raise the truck 6 inches and what kind of tires can we get to make it look good and keep the stock rims..

I hope I gave enough information.. we are looking to do this for under $1000

Thanks
Michael

You want a 6" lift and new tires for under $1000? Good luck.

I don't know of any 6" lifts avail. There are several 4" suspension lifts for $1300 or so (parts only). Then you could get a 3" body lift for $150 or so (parts only).

doh!

What about just getting a body lift? whats the difference?

I think a body lift is what my cousin is looking for.. does anyone have any pics w/ a 3 in body lift?

He just told me he wanted to lift up his truck, so I have no idea.. I dont drive a truck..

Thanks
Michael

I have a 3" body lift on my truck. I am running 35x12.50 BFG Mud Terrrains. The only way to increase ground clearance is Bigger tires. You can fit the same size tire on the truck with a suspension or body lift, but you will have more frame to ground clearance with the suspension lift. Body Lift costs $130 and a Suspension lift costs $1300-1500. http://www.geocities.com/Baja/Mesa/9131
