'94 I-beam lowering..

I am interested in lowering my '94 either 2/3 or 2/4. I have a couple questions. I want to keep the factory ride and don't want to look like a typical "lowrider". I am looking for more of a sport truck aggressive stance with the back slightly higher than the front. First question, what method/parts do I use to lower without ruining the ride? Next, will 2/4 put my truck level front to back? Any info or experiences with this suspension would be appreciated. Thanks!

Neal

If you want to keep the ride you currently have then I would go with dropped I-beams in the front and lower shackles for the rear. This way you are keeping the factory springs and therefore keeping the factory spring rate. I would also suggest some good shocks to help out the handling. My buddy has a '92 F-150 with a 5/7 slam and it rides great!! Of course getting in and out of some parking lots are a little hard on the catalytic converter cover. He bought the truck new and did it back in '93 and has since put 80K miles on it lowered. His kit was from Bell Tech and had dropped I-Beams and shorter coil springs for the front and a flip kit with C-notch for the rear.

A 2/4 drop will even out the truck, a 3/4 will give you a slight rake. I have a 3/4 drop on my '97 with slightly smaller tires in the front and taller out back and it gives it a real "Hot Rod" type look.

Hope this helps.
