00` Rear Leaf Spring Help/Info

Kind of long but leads to the question

Took my truck in to the dealer to get some items taken care of including the thunk in driveline last week. They replaced the right side leaf spring due to the leafs spreading out and said the left side was also bad. They claimed the people who put my exhaust on "Knocked the end caps/clamps off" and thats why they were spreading. They hastily put the right side on under warranty but ordered the other side stating I would have to pay for it. They claim that it was caused by the aftermarket exhaust being put on and they were not responsible for the damage from it.

After explaining the following:

The truck was lifted by the tires on drive on ramp lift and could not have been lifted by the suspension for the exhaust. I offered to take them there to see for themselves. It was also installed over 2 yrs ago.

Truck has only been lifted by the their dealerership by the frame for oil changes, axle seals(3 times now), new axle shaft that came from factory bad, and other little items since I`ve had it. Asked if they could have done it since they lift it by the frame and had done so numerous times sine new.

I was a line tech for 6yrs and I was ASE certified in suspension/steering and what they were telling me was complete bull and I didnt abuse the truck like they suggested I might have. If towing a jetski and some garden items is abuse we are all abusing our trucks on this area . One look at the truck and you can tell its babied and NOT abused. Looks new inside and out and always clean even underneath.

I never noticed a clamp on the front and the rear of the spring before and had always seen just the one on the front towards the cab. A quick look under another 2000 model and it also had just one cap at the front and none also on the other side. His leafs were also spreading. They practically called me a liar about having or not having clamps on it. We looked at the new leaf they put on and its a whole different design on the clamps and the spacers and had one in the front and rear. Is it possible the old style clamps were falling off???

They finally agreed to cover it under warranty and cover all the costs with it. I was getting a little loud at the end and it may have been a way to get me out of there.

Heres my question????
Any of you guys that have stock leafs on the back could you see how many clamps are on your leafs. If there is just one on the front or both front a rear. Are yours spreading at all on either side?? I need to arm myself with a little more info in case they change it from no-charge to customer pay next tues. If I can throw some numbers(no-names) at them it may help.... By the way the clunk is still there it went in for orig. and the reason they replaced the leaf spring....I told them to look in driveline and was ignored there too.
