squeak!
Grease your pitman arm. You'll find lots of info on this site about it. Mine actually sqeaked for about 5 or 6 days after I greased it before the noise stopped. It's been a month now and the noise hasn't returned.
Grease the pitman arm how when there is no grease fitting on it ? That's why I am having mine replaced .Ford makes these things out of Rubber internally and they have no grease fitting on them. Can you say Another Stupid move Ford! What idiot decides to put non greasable fittings on the entire front steering system ?

I'd bet it is the ball joints. Is it a 2wd or 4wd? Pitman arm should only squeek while turning the wheels. My truck had the same sqeek as liscombe1 described (on bumps on the drivers side even while parked). I sprayed the ball joints with WD-40 and the noise went away. I plan on changing the ball joints when the weather gets better.
About 2 years ago my pitman arm was making noise while turning the wheels. I just poked a very small hole in the rubber boot and squirted some lithium grease in. I have not heard any noise since then.
