Shock Comparison
STX/98:
Sounds excellent and just what I have been looking for. A recommendation from someone with a 2wd like my truck. I don't have anything against the 4X4 but figured their ride quality would be a bit different since they had a little more weight.
I figured if the 4X4 people were saying it was smooth and not stiff that I may find it different since mine is a 2wd.
We have some real bad roads in the town I live in. Basically like you described, it feels (at 30 - 35mpg) like your really going to break something in the suspension with how rough it is. It gives you a hell of a ride just about knocking the crap out of you unless you slow down to 20 - 25mph, and then it still sucks.
A big thank you to you STX/98 for your evaluation. I may have asked before, but I'll ask again. How many miles did you have on your truck when you changed out the stock shocks? I have 33,000 miles and am really considering it just for the better ride. I know the stock shocks are good and working properly, and with the exception of the bad roads in town, the truck has a great ride quality. Anyhow, I have been seriously considering replacing the shocks.
So is that right, the Edelbrock’s have a "life time" warranty? I didn't know that. I knew they had a 30 money back guarantee, which tells me they have high confidence in their product.
