Just a question

I have a stock riding '97 f-150 XLT and I would like to ride on 33x12.50 and I have not cranked the torsion bars yet. If I do this will I be able to fit these tires and will I have to add anything in back like a block if I crank them all the way?? And should I add a good set of shocks like the rancho's if I do. Thanks to anyone that pipes in.

Does anyone have some pic's of a 305/70/17 mounted on a stock wheel? I want to see how much closer the tire will look to the outer part of the fender (the offset look compared to stock tires) I hope this make sense. I'm thinking of getting whell adapters (not spacers) to widen the overall stance. I have a '99 4x4 stepside.

Thanks for the help!

Iron,

I don't think you'll have to do anything to fit the 33's. I have a ton of room left. I think you should change the shocks even if you don't change the tires. Shocks moved way up on my next trucks priority upgrade list.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I am going to crank them up when it decides to warm up outside where I am at. It has been below zero lately. But just to ask, you get no rubbing right? and besides shocks would you recommend anything else like a steering stabilizer. Thanks for the info and anymore help will be great. Thanks

I haven't looked so I'm gonna ask...The '03 SuperCrew's have both rear shocks behind the axle???

All other Supercrew's have been with the right side in front and all other body style F-150's with both behind.

Shocks mounted on Screw...

You're right the SuperCrew does have teh shocks staggered front and back. I could have sworn teh FX4's were both behind the axle. Per Ford, It is teh weight difference in the Crew and the Super that made ford alternate the Crews mount. I put em' both on the back for the look and can't tell a difference. The look pretty good facing the rear.
