Cranked or Not?

I'm trying to figure out if my torsion bars are already cranked or not. I bought my Screw used and took it directly to a trusted tire shop for alignment. They told me the camber was out really bad and it would have to have a new kit installed. Since it had only 20,000 miles on it, I took it to the dealer looking for a little warranty work. No luck. They agreed that the camber was out really bad and their price to install the adjustable kit was less than the tire store's so I let them do it. This, along with the fact that my truck seems to sit a little higher than others, makes me wonder if the previous owner has maybe already cranked the bars. I am running 265/75 16's and have 8 1/2 inches from the top of my front tire to the bottom of the fender flare. Let me know what you think.

It seems that cranking up the torsion bars is almost standard practice if you read enough posts. When I bought my truck, I had the dealer adjust the bars to help level things out. The original owner switched from stock tires to 265/75 and the mechanic told me that different size tires require different torsion bar settings. Maybe the previous owner of your truck didn't get the bars cranked quite right and it threw something off with the camber.

Thanks for the reply. I would love to know how much space some of you guys have between the top of your front tire and the bottom of the fender flare on the 4 X 4 Screws. Just curious.
