warranty

I just did a quick search for extended warranties on google and their must be over a hundred.

Let me give you some suggestions. If your vehicle is still under manufacturer's warranty you have access to Ford's own extended warranty-I think the maximum you can get is 5 years or 75K-which ever comes first.
If you go aftermarket-get details on what they DO NOT cover. If the list of exclusions is longer than what they cover, move on. Ideally you want bumber to bumber coverage with a $50-100 deductible per visit-not per item. Also find out about reimbursement, rental cars, trip interruption, etc. I own a repair shop in the Atlanta area and had a warranty company want me to repair a vehicle for next to nothing (both in labor hours and labor rate)-and they were going to SEND me the parts-like taking your steak to Outback!

Good luck-should not pay more than $1500

I paid $1695 for the 5 year/75,000 mile Ford PremiumCare extended warranty when I bought my 2002 SuperCrew Lariat 4x4. My dealer told me that any extended warranty other than Ford's would mean me paying up front and obtaining payment from the OEM warranty myself. Lots of luck!

No suprise here, your dealer flat out LIED! Price of your warranty is not bad, however, finance managers work on commssion just like the sale's staff does. Always refuse their first offer-some places have one price selling, but better to make sure you are not leaving any $$ on the table.

Estended Warranty

Try here: http://www.fordwarrantycentral.com/

This is a dealer in the mid-west that sells the Ford Extended Warranty at a discount. I saved about $500 over the best price my local dealer would offer. It is indeed the actual Ford plan, good at any dealer in the country.

I checked out the website, and that dealer has some great prices. I talked to my dealer last Sat. and they wanted $1195 for the premium care with 60month/75000mile coverage. This dealer will sell me the same coverage for $835. Guess where I'm going to buy it? He's about 90 minutes away on I-80, but it wouldn't matter if he was 2000 miles away because the plan works with any Ford dealership.

Hi Tonka01,
A good site to check on Ford Extended Service Plan is \\www.fordesp.com. Since I put an average of 20K miles/yr on my truck I purchased the 5yr 100k PremiumCare. They charged me $1232.60. My home dealer wanted me to pay $1640.00.
