That's right !! As of friday it will be gone and being replaced by an 03 Screw Dark Shadow Gray 4x4 XLT , 5.4L , Capt.chair's , Power moonroof , trailer tow , 3.73ls , 17" Aluminum rims & 265/70/17 tire's , bed xtender , dual media cd/cassette , power seat , skid plate's , rear slider , Tuff Truck pkg.

Dealer called today & said he found one exactly like I was looking for soooooo , I'm going to go for it. I will be doing a final inspection on Wed. AM and if all is ok I will pick up on Friday .

The truck came with the teardrop stlye alum rim's like on the old ORP. They said they would swap them for the 10 spoke sport rim's if I want those instead. They have another one on the lot that has the 10 spoke's only in color I did'nt like.

Do ya think I should go with the 10 spoke's or the old ORP style ?

Mod #1 Day#1 - Replace stock Goodyear RT/S with 285/70/17 BFG AT/KO's & crank up t-bar's a little bit. After that ....Here we go again.....

Can you give me a picture to go off of. If the ten spoke ones are the ones that I am thinking about, I would stick with the others no matter what they look like. My personal favorites are the new FX4 rims. You should try and get some of those.

 

From a cleaning perspective, I have the 10-Spoker's on our SCrew and would prefer any other style, the teardrop as you mention or the FX4 or the Chrome Lariat Wheels. The 10-Spokers to me are just too hard to clean. With that being said, once I do have ours clean I do like the look of them.

 

I'm not really sure about which wheel you mean, but if the "10 spoke" you mentioned are what I think they are, I would go with about anything else they offer. They look like they belong on a 2x4 Expedition instead of a pick-up. They just don't look "truck-ish" enough in my opinion.

The saw-tooth ORP wheels look good, although a little dated now. I had them on my '99 and liked the look. If there is gonna be alot of chrome on your truck, the chrome lariat wheels look nice. (What I have now). But if you are getting an XLT as you stated, they prolly won't trade out even for those.

Thank's for the opinion's guy's . I did choose the 10 spoke's. I put them side by side on wednesday when I went to inspect the truck. There was no comparison on which wheel looked better(IMO). The old ORP / sawblade rim just looked so plain on there.

I pick it up at 10 am on friday. I have an appt. at my tire guy to get 285/70/17 BFG AT/KO's put on at 2pm. Alway's my first & immediate mod when I get a new truck. I hope the 285 will not dog the power down to much or rub or I'll be real bummed out .

I think once spring comes I will maybe put a set of 17 x 8 polished A/R Atlas rim's on anyway. I'll sere what he say's on friday.

I really couldn't tell any difference in power when I put the 285's on....but I only had the 265's on for 300 miles (Ordered tires on the day I bought the truck which was Friday, so had to wait until Monday for tires to arrive). I am sure there has to be some diminished acceleration, but not enough for me to tell by seat of the pants. You will love the look enough to make up for any loss of power anyway!

Post a pic so we can see how your new tires look on your new ride! I am curious as to exactly which wheel you got!

I picked up the truck this AM ( friday) I did go with the 10 spoke rim's . They are the type that come's on the f150 sport 4x4. I think they were the best of the 2 I could pick. The old offroad stlye teardrop rim's looked like ***** . They were to plain looking. Not the nicest wheel but still look's good. I picked up truck at
11am and had new BFG AT/KO's on by 2pm. Really make's the truck look ALOT!!! better.
