Pics of my MagLight install

Some more pictures I have finally gotten around to taking/posting.

I purchased a rechargable MagLight (about $100) and then installed it right under the power point in the back seat. It fits perfectly and is completly out of the way. Very handy and snaps in and out of the holder. Plus I just run the wire up under the rubber door seal to the power point to charge it.

Isn't it a little inconvenient to have the light installed on the passenger side?

I keep a regular 4-cell in the driver's door. I have been thinking of mounting clips, but haven't decided on the location yet.

I already did something similar, here is a picture. It is convenient in case you needed to use it for a non-lighting function. {;-)

I know what you mean... Yes not having it up front would be an issue if I needed it right away like that. But because it's rechargeable and I didn't want it in the way up front, that is where the best spot was for me.

Basically I use it for when I am outside the truck like on the side of the freeway (emergency) or out offroading and need to get to a charged light.

I do like the light on the drivers side floor, did you drill though the floor for that???

I did the EXACT same thing as XOLE...

I agree, I'd hate having to go around the truck to get my F-light... Only difference I did with mine compared to xole's is I mounted mine on the frame of the seat so it sits level and I didn't have to damage the carpet, the metal floor and where I screwed into the seat frame I can remove it later and you can't tell where the holes were.

I should also mention that I don't have the power seats so that might not be possible on those...

I used to be a big fan of MagLights. Used to give them away for gifts. That was until I discovered LED flashlights. These LED lights are amazing. They don't throw a beam like Mags do. It's more like using a floodlight. The amazing thing about the LED flashlights is that you can leave it on for two weeks continuously and it still has a useable light.

The unfortunate thing is they're all made in China. This is one of the times where I can't find a US made product and am forced to buy something made in China.

They're not cheap. A 3 AA cell light costs about $30 and comes with a lifetime warranty.

I should add that the white LED emits a light that's got some blue in it. Looks like HID lights.

I am sick of my Mag light rolling around hitting stuff!
Where do I get the clips to mount the light?

TZ where did you run the wires?

Also about the LED lights, there cool and last a long time (battery life as well) but the light is only good for up close, you can't focus the light from an LED very well at all. Some flash lights (really expensive) have a hallagon bulb in the middle of an array of LEDs this way you get a nice beam and the flood from the LEDs.

I keep my flashlight in the center console. It is easy to get to and doesn't roll around. I have a smaller Browning flashlight that gives me all the light that I need. I guess it all just depends on what you use them for.
