Unhappy Keypad Install

I just bought a white door handle (part number XL1Z-7822405-BAJ) and keypad (part number 1F1Z-14A626-AA) for my 2001 S'Crew. When I plugged the keypad in, all I can do is turn the interior lights on when I press button 1/2. I cannot lock my dors with buttons 7/8 and 9/0, plus nothing happens when I key in the factory code (the one on the RAPs module and the little card in the owners manual (same number)). Plus the 5/6 button doesn't light and the others only light when I press the 1/2 button.
My question is, did I get the wrong keypad? The connector plugged right in and is the same color, but I've seen another part number for the keypad (YL3Z-14A626-AA) When I bought the keypad, I didn't know there were different numbers and just went to the dealer and asked for the keypad.
I have probably already answered my question myself, but I'd like to know if anyone else has installed the keypad that I have bought.

It looks like the dealership screwed up. They have given me the pad from a Mercury Sable. Damn it, I'll go in and hope they will take the part back (no returns on electrical parts).

Well, I went back to Ford today and picked up the right keypad. They had the correct one in stock and the parts guy gave me credit for the other one.
Got it all installed and it works perfectly!
I'll post a picture when I can get out there and take some, after it stops raining.

Hello WhiteSTX,

First time poster here, got a question maybe you or someone else can help me with. Is the wiring harness already in place for the keypad and all that's needed is a install? Also if so what other goodies are pre-wired?

I used to be a bowtie but have come to my senses, 2002 SCrew, FX4, Black over Graphite, bed extender, Dnyahyde tonneau, bug deflector, ventshades, Galaxy 66v CB/ Texas Star 667vamp.

First, welcome to the best F-150 site on the net.
Yes, your truck is wired for the keypad. It's a pretty straight forward process to install the new handle and pad. Go here http://www.svtlightnings.com/svt/how...ad_install.htm to get some great instructions (pay particular attention to the note about the "yellow clip", big time saver). Also our doors are a little different than the other F-150s, as a matter of fact, Ford put a hole in the door giving you unobstructed access to the left bolt.
There are 4 screws in the door panel, two on the bottom, one behind the cover behind the inside handle, and one more behind the panel with the window switches on it. Those two panels just pop right out. To remove them just lift on the front edge and they pull out with a little effort (don't worry, they don't break. I really reefed on mine).

Here are the part numbers for the parts:
Black handle: XL1Z-7822405-BAH
Keypad: YL3Z-14A626-AA

Familyman, you are welcome.
One way to get her a little more receptive to the mod is to tell her you never have to worry about locking the keys in the truck. She may come back with "but that's why we have (AAA or Ford roadside assistance)". But then ask her if she would rather stand around waiting for the locksmith for about an hour, or just press 5 little buttons, and off she goes.

STX, did you have to buy the black component? I thought they were available in a variety of colors? I was hoping I wouldnt have to rely on my painting skills to do this.

The pics he had was of a white component, the reason he posted the black part number is that my screw is black , hope that helps.
