Need Help..Screw Wouldn't Start the Other Night

I was out of town for a football game....I filled back up with gas Friday when I arrived. Saturday when I went to leave my truck would not stay running. It would start and turn over, but would then die. I could start it....put my foot on the gas and it would stay running. I was getting very upset..i only have 3000 miles on it....so what I did was start it reved up the RPM's slammed it into drive and took off....it was real sluggish and jerky for awhile but after about a min or so it was fine and and been fine ever since....wonder if anyone else has had this problem....wonder if i just got some bad gas or what.....i have to take it in to get the oil changed...and was gonna have them check it out.....any suggestions or help on this would be greatly appreciated

Definately hard to say but, sounds like a bad tank of gas.... could have potentially caused some blockage in your fuel filter and thus, it's not getting the fuel necessary to maintain idle.

Just a thought... I'd definately get it looked at. Hard to say if it will be warrantied if it is bad fuel... I'd say they'll try to come back on you for the cost because you put the fuel in the truck. From that point, I'd go after whoever you bought the fuel from...

Best of luck...

I had the same problem last week 2002 screw 4.6L. The dealer said they had to replace the and idle sensor.

It is most certainly 99.5% chance your Idle Air Control valve. Remove the rubber hose and two bolts that hold it to the throttle body... douse with carb cleaner, blow out with compressed air. Reinstall... good as new!
