Question to remove or not to remove

I just traded my 02 screw XLT for a 03 screw lariat with the FX4 package-and I am bothered by the stickering(FX4) on the truck. It is a beautiful truck and the stickers on the rear seem to take away from the elegance of the truck. I was wondering if anyone has removed the decals? I know how to do it, but i just wanted feedback before taking them off.

Phil,

I have a 4X4 Off Road had the stickers, took them off and like the look......alot......Took my truck in for service and my salesman had the stickers put on because he thought they were not on at delivery. I now have the stickers back and will probably remove them soon. I have to say the truck looks much cleaner without the stickers. I also think that the FX4 sticker is much louder than the off road sticker. Take them off, if you don't like the look after awhile, its short money to replace them.

Take em off?? Those stickers cost me an extra thousand! Just kidding...I like the looks without them also.

What is the easiest way to remove them?

I didn't like the FX4 decal either. 5 minutes with my wife's hair dryer and they were all peeled off.

I have debated taking off my 4x4 Off Road stickers, but so far haven't done it. I think Ford screwed up when they went to the larger, multi-colored FX4 sticker. Some of the combinations of sticker colors and truck colors just don't look right, IMO. Anyway, they should be a snap to remove. Just park it in direct sunlight (or use a hair dryer like serotta said) to let it heat up, and they should peel right off.

Hehe - nope, not me. I lost a game of chicken with an 18 wheeler, only I didn't know we were playing when he ran me off the road.

I liked the stickers and that is part of the reason that I decided to buy the FX4 package. It seems that Ford was looking for something to compare to the Chevrolet and GMC Z-71 packages with the looks of the stickers. I guess opinions are like... well, we all know how that goes.

I thought about taking mine off, but I kind of like them, but I change my mind from day to day.

Here's a thought ... peel them off ... then order a new set just like them , but instead of putting them back on the truck get a sheet of thin magnetic meterial stick it on and trim it out ... then you can change it back and forth as the mood strikes you .

We did that with large company logo stickers and put them on the doors of the rental cars we use when we travel ... works great .

I've been watching this thread to see where it went and who thinks what. Here's my $.02: I like my FX4 decal. While I'm not overly thrilled with the color, I think it makes a statement about my vehicle. (And, yeah, I paid extra for that package, so there.) Kind of like the chevy guy who has Z-71 on his truck, I have FX4 on mine. It identifies my truck as one bad a$$ vehicle and I'm kinda proud of that. Sure the look may be cleaner without it, but I think I'll keep mine on.

If you like it, leave them one. If you're not sure, take them off. Either way it's your choice. IMO, it looks better removed.

LD,

Mine was with an 18 wheeler too. T-boned us while he ran a stoplight at 45 mph. That'll make you black and blue.
