Question 6 cd Indash for Screw

Does anyone know if an indash 6 cd changer from a 2001 Mustang will fit a 2001 Supercrew? Asked the dealer but he wasn't much help. The part # on the radio is YL2F-18C821-AG.

Alpha7,

I am almost 100% sure that they are the same and can be swapped into the Screw's. I went to a audio place that distributes for Ford/Visteon and traded in my single cd system for a 6 disc in dash system and paid the difference (which was very little) Call another dealer or a car audio place that works Fords and they should be able to tell you for sure. Good luck

I can't vouch for the Mustangs, as I know most of them up to 2001 had two single DIN size units in them. You would have to look to see if it was visually the same size. If so, then yes it will fit. Ford has made the plugs interchangeable. My 2002 Sport Trac is interchangeable with my 2001 F150 Screw.

I'm 99.9% sure it will fit.

i put the ford 6 disc in mine. head to trim one platic bracket. in dash no big deal. took about ten seconds with my mini air saw. works great. i had a one cd unit. now all is good. the 6 disc is thicker than the stock units at the rear. i drive mine off road alot. and do not have any rattles.

Ford must of changed the inside of the dash for '03 as the 6-disc in dash is now available from the factory.
